with a tank that size the stand would still cost quite a bit of £££ but if it is quite tall do you need a stand and without the knowledge of the capacity of the tank it is hard to say if any diy stands suggested would hold it
When in doubt get another tank.
I keep water the fish are just for decoration.

Thats true never thought of that. I think it will have to go in the floor to start with till I get the proper measurement to start with. Thanks for the reply

Denise its easy enough done, get some framing built from a minimum of 2x2 make sure its solid wood add beams across to take the weight add a solid piece of marine ply which can be hidden using other wood and if you want to close it it use the ply for that too.
Heres a picture of the one Barry built for what was supposed to be my mudskippers tank, we haven't decided if we are just going to put shelves under or put doors on it. Its a 35inch x 20 x 20 tank which I got custom built so didn't come with a stand. The height really doesnt affect it much other than adding to the weight.

He made this one in a similar way but this one is enclosed and has a thicker legs and more supports to take the weight as its 5ft x2ft x2ft

that will depend on the height and width as we need to know how much water is in there.

I would use two heaters, one at each end-250 watts per heater should do it
