Update on my Discus, as of May 17th - the Spawning Cone is a recent addition, as the Larger Blue Diamond and one of the Red Turq's were showing signs of 'Flirting' . (Fingers, Toes, Everything are crossed :cla: )

Just a little update, as I now have 2 pairs of Discus spawning regularly and some Rainbow Cichlid's and Krib's trying to spawn whenever possible (!)............

My Second pair of Discus are a Super-Red Melon Male and a Red Turq. Female;

Image

Image

The Rainbow Cichlids are developing nicely and the males are getting far differentiated from the females;

Male Adult (Bigger body and more Pointed Fins;)

Image

They have plenty of hiding places and choices of sites to spawn in, such as Coconut Caves, Terracotta Flower Pots, Rocks, Bogwood and Slate......they tend to lay the eggs on the Bogwood and defend them from all other Fish with success.....I remove them if I can get to them and let the parents rear in a specialist breeder tank........

Image

I am tempoarily homing a couple of Pink-Kissing Gouramies which I'm just checking over, before aiming to take to the Autism Centre for Children's Aquarium - which I visit to maintain and replenish every so often........

...The Fry are about 2 weeks old with the Blue Diamond /Red Turq. - they ate the last lot at the 1 week stage. :cry:

> I will probably remove the Male soon, as the female and my Brinshrimp food should be enough..........the other Pair (Red Melon/RedTurq) have just laid another batch of eggs today - this is their fifth spawn, but they are eating the fry at the 1 week stage also.
- It's annoying but I'm pleased they are so prolific - sooner or later they'll realise what to do/not to do! ...I'm feeding the Parents enough not to pollute the water, but it may be too little?!? > The water is in the parameters and I'm taking out any debris/muck (avoiding the Fry!)
