Rainbow fish ?

In my LFS he has a tank full of rainbow fish (new in) they are about 2" long and silver looking but multi coloured in the silver pigment.

What are these fish like ?

They was called Western Rainbow fish.

Quite nice but there are nicer rainbows i.m.o and many that are sold are the drabber of the varieties available!

I like Melanotaenia praecox, easy fish to keep as well.

If you like rainbows try....Melanotaenia lacustris....or....melanotaenia boesemani....or....melanotaenia praecox..... and they work best in decnt shoals,min six i would say :ok:
Well worth it though as they are a stunning fish in decent shoals!!
