Beefheart?

Postby POS_miniracer » Tue Nov 19, 2013 11:09 pm

Is it actually made from a cows heart?

I've fed a lot of different live or frozen foods but never any beefheart. My father swears by the stuff with his Discus but I've always seen mixed reviews on it.

Anyone here use it or have used it in the past? Any thoughts?

I keep all CA/SA cichlids btw with the exception of two Raphael catfish.

I have fed beef heart as part of there diet to discus many years ago when I bred them but now I think that I would go for an alternative to a mammal based food.I personaly would go for a pellet based feeding system with enriched frozen shrimps/worms as an addition,I would also take advice from the experts that breed the things.
If it has fin's and swim's I'm interested in it....

I agree with superdart, it was used as a food for discus years back on a regular basis but pellet foods are so much better now that there really isnt any need. And yes it is cow heart lol you have to trim it to remove any fats etc off it.
